Loop Habit Tracker on iPhone: your options
Loop Habit Tracker is one of the best habit apps ever made - free, open source, no ads, no nonsense. It is also Android-only. If you have switched to iPhone, or you are about to, here is what you can actually do.
Is there a Loop Habit Tracker for iOS?
No. Loop Habit Tracker is an Android app, and there is no official iOS version and no announced plan for one. You cannot install Android apps on an iPhone, so there is no sideloading workaround either. Anything on the App Store using a similar name is a different app by a different developer.
So what are your options?
1. Keep an old Android phone around
Some people keep their previous phone alive just for Loop. It works, but checking in on a device you no longer carry defeats the point of a habit tracker - the friction kills the habit of tracking itself.
2. Start over in a new app
Any iPhone habit tracker works if you are willing to throw away your history. But if you have years of check-ins, streaks and heatmaps in Loop, starting from zero feels terrible - and that history is often exactly what keeps you going. If you want to see what is out there, here is an honest look at the Loop alternatives for iPhone.
3. Bring your Loop history with you
This is what Ouro is built for. Ouro is a habit tracker for iPhone that reads Loop's own export format: you export your data from Loop as a ZIP, open it in Ouro, and your habits arrive with their complete check-in history. Streaks, scores and heatmaps are rebuilt from your real data - years of progress, nothing retyped.
Step-by-step: how to import your Loop data into iPhone
What carries over from Loop?
- All your habits, including their colors
- Every check-in you have ever made
- Streaks and scores, rebuilt from that history
- Monthly grids and year heatmaps, filled from day one
What is Ouro?
Ouro is a habit tracker made for iPhone, with satisfying hold-to-check celebrations, streaks, stats and heatmaps for every habit. Like Loop, it respects you: your data stays on your device, there is no account and no tracking, and you can export everything at any time. The free version covers up to 3 habits with every feature included; a single one-time purchase unlocks unlimited habits. No subscription.

Frequently asked questions
Can I install Loop Habit Tracker on an iPhone?
No. iPhones cannot run Android apps, and Loop has no iOS version. The only way to continue with your Loop data on iPhone is to import it into an app that understands Loop's export format.
Will I lose my streaks when I switch?
Not if you import your history. Streaks are calculated from your check-ins, so when Ouro imports every check-in from your Loop export, your streaks come out exactly as they were.
Does Loop sync between Android and iPhone?
No. Loop stores everything locally on your Android device and has no cloud sync at all - which is part of why people love it. That is also why a one-time export and import is the way to move.
